Boeing Safety & Quality Page Redesign
Role
UX Designer, IA Strategist, Content Architect
Timeline
3 weeks (2025)
This project focused on reimagining Boeing's Safety & Quality webpage through the lens of information architecture and content strategy. The goal was to increase transparency, trust, and engagement by restructuring overloaded content, streamlining navigation, and integrating visual storytelling.
Objective:
To improve clarity, transparency, and user retention on Boeing's Safety & Quality webpage by simplifying navigation, adding visual hierarchy, and introducing modules that align with user expectations and mental models.
Boeing's existing Safety & Quality page suffers from information overload, low visual engagement, and a lack of structured storytelling.
Critical content like FAA compliance and safety improvements is buried, leading to user drop-off and decreased trust. In a post-crisis landscape, rebuilding credibility requires a digital presence that clearly communicates Boeing's commitment to safety.
The Problem-
Audit & Gap Analysis
-
Overloaded Text & Difficult Navigation
Overloaded text blocks with no content hierarchy. Multiple, conflicting navigation bars. Making critical safety information hard to access.
-
No clear call to action (CTA)
Absence of clear CTAs or visual engagement elements.
-
Regulatory compliance
No access to real-time FAA reports or regulatory data. Its not well-highlighted, therefore reducing trust.
-
Limited Transparency
No employee or expert voice to reinforce credibility
Current Module
Issues
Hero Section: Long, generic intro → Add video, clear CTA, and Boeing's safety commitment
Safety Cards: Over-cluttered with too many highlights → Condense into structured subpages
Navigation: Multiple navigation elements → Consolidate for clarity
Compliance: No real data or updates → Add FAA data with time-stamped updates
Testimonials: Absent → Add employee video interviews for human trust

Reflection
In today’s world, people instinctively search for answers online. Boeing’s current Safety Page lacks the engagement, structure, and accessibility needed to meet that behavior. In crisis situations like the one Boeing is currently under, transparency becomes critical to rebuilding public trust. Trust comes from transparency—and the website should reflect Boeing’s commitment to safety and open communication.
This project challenged me to consider the emotional and informational needs of users navigating safety content in a high-stakes industry. I learned the power of aligning UX laws like Hick’s and Jakob’s with strategic content decisions. If expanded further, I would integrate a live metrics dashboard, expand employee voices across departments, and run usability tests with aviation stakeholders to validate clarity under pressure.
